The 40-year old Kalpasar project besides developing a fresh water reservoir, will also work at creating tourism prospects in the state. The Gujarat government, under a public-private partnership, will set up a 5-star hotel near the Kalpasar dam, Gujarat. Besides a 5 star hotel, the dam will also see a rail track being made, parallel to the highway.
"Through public-private partnership, we want to promote tourism on this dam by developing one or more 5-star hotels on the whole 30 km long highway," said Secretary of the Kalpasar project, MS Patel.
