Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) which runs Indian railways online passenger site IRCTC.co.in for railway tickets booking has now launched the service of booking domestic air tickets also on its website. The procedure to book the air tickets will be similar to that followed for booking rail tickets. Once the booking is done, travellers will get printed e-tickets for the chosen destination. All the information regarding timings and airfares will be available on the site.
“We want to solve all travel-related problems faced by travellers. The commuters will be able to plan their long trips on the website of IRCTC,” Aneet Dullat, chief regional manager, Chandigarh zone, IRCTC, said.
For now, the Corporation has just introduced the facility of booking tickets for domestic flights and will slowly extend the service to foreign destinations based on the public response. One can book for popular domestic destinations like Tirupati, Goa, Srinagar, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep from the same portal. Indian Railways Tourism and Catering Corporation have begun selling air tickets for domestic flights on its website
