For those fond of gorging on Japanese food, good news is that the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), a government-related organization, has launched two ‘Japan Shops’ at Nature’s Basket Warden Road and HyperCITY, Malad, in Mumbai. The shops would directly market Japanese F&B products to the Indians.

As per JETRO, the two stores would sell 58 products selected for the Indian market by seasoned buyers of international gourmet products. The product line-up would include food, beverages, seasonings, snacks and confectionery. The stores would be under the authority of maidoindia (Maido Enterprises Pvt. Ltd).

According to Tamon Mochida, Consulate General of Japan in Mumbai, the rising popularity of Japanese cuisines has laid the stepping stone for the two ‘Japan Shop’. Both the stores would be first step to provide adequate opportunity for the people in India to experiment and learn about the Japanese F&B.
