December 2, 2009 will mark a new beginning for all those people who travel on the Mumbai-Kathmandu route on a regular basis. Jet Airways has introduced a daily service from the commercial capital of India (Mumbai) to the capital city of Nepal (Kathmandu). As per the acting CEO of Jet Airways, a flight has been added on the Indo-Nepal sector to serve the busy leisure and business air traffic.
Jet Airways flight number 9W 266 will depart from Mumbai at 08:30 am and will arrive in Kathmandu at 11:15 am. The return flight 9W 265 will take off from Kathmandu at 12:45 pm, arriving in Mumbai at 3:30 pm. The airline will operate two daily flights on the Delhi-Kathmandu sector as well, from December 17, 2009, totaling fourteen weekly frequencies (up from the thirteen currently).
Jet Airways has also pioneered new services on the Mumbai-Kolkata sector, on November 11. Flight 9W 217 departs Mumbai at 10:20 am, arriving in Kolkata at 12:55 pm. Flight 9W 218 departs from Kolkata at 1:30 pm, arriving in Mumbai at 3:55 pm.
