SpiceJet airline is currently in talks with state tourism boards of Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa and Karnataka to promote holiday packages to high- end consumers. The holiday package offered will be a part of the existing SpiceJet Privilege Pass Programme which was launched in September 2009. SpiceJet is in discussion with Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) and Kerala Tourism and the holiday packages are expected to soon go live.
Aniish Srikrishna, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing, SpiceJet Limited said, “We are looking at a combination of flights, hotels, bus and sightseeing at various destinations and are open to working closely with other tourism boards as well. We are evaluating the option of promoting the holiday packages through the call centre and website.”
Vinay Luthra, Managing Director, KSTDC said that his department is holding dialogues with SpiceJet to promote and sell Karnataka holiday packages comprising of hotels, bus travel and sightseeing . He added that the holiday package would definitely expand the reach of Karnataka’s tourism products, allow more visibility in the domestic market and help in increasing tourist inflow in the state.
