The Taiwan Tourism Bureau has approved 37 new hotel investment projects on the island. To provide adequate accommodation facilities for tourists, many international tourist hotels, business properties and boutique hotels will increase their number of guestrooms in Taiwan by more than 10,000. Last year, Taiwan witnessed a record number of 4.4 million people. These figures include a total of 44,815 visitors from the UK, many of whom mentioned ‘pleasure’ as their reason for frequent visiting.
Josephine Huang, Marketing Manager, Taiwan Tourism Bureau (Europe), said “We are delighted that more and more people are recognizing Taiwan as a fantastic leisure destination. We look forward to developing our tourism market even further and to welcoming even more travellers to our beautiful island.”
