Abu Dhabi, the capital of United Arab Emirates (UAE) is all set to create a niche for itself by making a remarkable presence at the Marché du Film during the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2010, France. Its seaside pavilion 139 in the International Village will be open daily from 10am to 6pm all through the Festival from May 12-23.
The hosts at the pavilion will include the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH), the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC), and the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, as well as Imagenation Abu Dhabi and twofour54.
“Our pavilion at Cannes exemplifies Abu Dhabi’s growth as a filmmaking center and its increasing international recognition,” said Eissa Saif Al Mazrouei, Director of Special Projects for ADACH. The pavilion is a good way to promote Abu Dhabi as a global filmmaking hub and is expected to be a hit among the visitors. It will also serve as a meeting place for filmmakers and accredited industry delegates, and will host a series of interesting events.
