Fatehpur Sikri, the architectural marvel that boasts of many historical monuments will undergo a facelift keeping in view the upcoming Commonwealth Games (CWG). 
Eight teams of architects who are in charge of renovating various monuments in Agra such as Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and the various gardens of Agra built in Mughal style have also been deployed to look after these monuments. Fatehpur Sikri listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site is dotted with important buildings like Jama Masjid, Buland Darwaza which is one of the gateways to Jama Masjid, Pachisi Court, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Birbal’s House, Diwan-i-Khas and others.
The renovation work and the efforts to maintain and preserve the monuments are bound to attract more number of visitors and help in garnering more revenue. District Magistrate of Agra, Amrit Abhijat has ordered the officials to complete the developmental work of Taj Mahal before CWG kick starts. Besides, the government has allotted 21 lakhs, 50 thousand booths to equip the tourists with all the details. Tourism Ministry has also allotted 63 lakhs for training of police officials, taxi drivers and hotel managers.
Meanwhile, Delhi which will soon play host to the much anticipated CWG is busy preparing many entertainment packages and cultural shows near its historical monuments to woo tourists.
