Hong Kong witnessed 40,938 Indian visitor arrivals for the period between January and March this year. An increase in India’s business and leisure travel segment can be owed to several factors like increased weekly flights, lower airfares, Visa-free arrangements, revival of the world economy and expanded flight capacity.
According to HKTB, the visitor arrivals to Hong Kong during quarter one of 2010 increased by 16.5 per cent to 8,624,688, making it the highest figure ever for the quarter one period. With the introduction of new flights between Hong Kong and Indian cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru) by Cathay Pacific Airways, Dragonair, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines, the number of Indian travellers is expected to grow further.
