Singapore city often referred as the tourists’ paradise witnessed a total of 116,000 Indian visitors in the month of May thus making India, the second largest tourist market for Singapore.
According to the figures revealed by Singapore Tourism Board (STB), about 28 per cent more Indians travelled to Singapore in May than a year ago. Indonesia was the top tourist generating market with 186,000 visitors (up 43 per cent), Malaysia was third with 82,000(up 49 per cent), followed by China 72,000 visitors (up 38 per cent), and Australia with 64,000 visitors (up 7 per cent). Total May tourist arrivals in Singapore increased by 30.3 per cent to 946,000, said the board.
Singapore that has many famous attractions like Sentosa Island, East Coast Park, Changi Chapel & Museum, Underwater World and others is also actively promoting itself as a medical tourism hub. The city that aims to become a top medical destination in the coming years attracts about 200,000 foreigners per annum who visit to seek medical care.
