With an aim to promote France’s famous pilgrimage destination , Lourdes, in the Indian market, the Lourdes Tourist Office will be undertake many initiatives to woo travelers from South India especially Tamil Nadu and Kerala, as well as Indian tourists visiting France.
Franck Delahaye, Promotional Director, Lourdes Tourist Office said, “The strategy is simple- to establish our presence in the Indian market and become a market leader for France. When one visits France, they must go to Paris first then maybe Riviera; but if anyone has to discover the real France, then one must visit the 'other South' in Lourdes and Pyrenees.”
The tourist office will conduct a series of road shows and press conferences in key source markets like Mumbai and New Delhi to let people know about Lourdes and its surrounding areas. Presently, Lourdes has witnessed close to 10,000 tourists from the Indian market and the tourism board is aiming at increasing the number in the coming years.
