The famed Marriot hotels group has signed an agreement with Phoenix Hospitality to open a new hotel in Kurla, Mumbai, by the year 2012.

Marriot Hotels group has entered into an agreement with Phoenix Hospitality, in a bid to expand its existing portfolio in India, by 2012. It is all set to launch a new hotel in Mumbai, under the name Mumbai Marriott Hotel Kurla. This will bring the number of Marriot properties in India to a total of 36. The new hotel will form a part of mixed-use development that will also accommodate wide-ranging office and retail space in the central suburb of North Mumbai.
 
The hotel accommodation will feature facilities like baths with separate tub and shower, luxurious bed and bath amenities, high speed internet access, HD TV, and in-room safe and a mini-bar. A 24-hour casual restaurant, a specialty outlet, a pool bar and an open, welcoming lobby lounge are the other exciting features that the Mumbai Marriot will offer. Some other amenities will include an outdoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, a spa and fitness center with four treatment rooms and much more.
 
For the purpose of social meets and gatherings, the hotel offers 1,000 square meters of space, comprising a 660-square meter ballroom that will be divided into three sections, a 100-square meter meeting room divided into two sections and 240 square meters of space in varied configurations. An executive club floor and lounge, a fully equipped business center with three work stations, an office, a meeting room and a boardroom; a gift and sundry shop, a florist shop and a beauty/barber salon will be the other attractions of the hotel. When opened, it will be the fifth deluxe Marriott-branded hotel in India
