Ahmedabad-based hospitality company, The Grand Bhagwati (TGB) Group is all set to expand its portfolio in the Indian hospitality sector. The company that has signed its first management contract will construct a hotel at Baroda that is slated to be ready by 2012.
TGB Group is also in talks with the Gujarat government to set up a chain of hotels in the pilgrim centres in the state. The company is currently developing its first five-star property in Surat that is scheduled to be launched in August 2010. It also has hotels lined up for development in Jaipur and Nagpur.
“Our properties have more emphasis on banqueting than on rooms and almost 75 per cent of our hotel revenues are generated from the banqueting space. We will primarily tap corporate conferences and weddings to our properties,” added Somani.
