A two day ‘All India Hotels and Restaurant Convention’ will be held at Taj Residency, Trivandrum, on December 7 and 8, 2009. Southern India Hotel & Restaurant Association (SIHRA) has been given an opportunity to take the charge of the event, with the theme being ‘Indian Tourism - Fast Learning & Future Earning.’ M P Purushothaman, President - SIHRA, said that an overall participation of 500 delegates from across India is expected for the convention.
 
V S Achuthanandan - Chief Minister, Kerala will honor the event by inaugurating it. The event is also supposed to be attended by other state and central ministers. A post-convention tour to Sri Lanka is also on the list of SIHRA, for the interested delegates. M P Purushothaman also plans to finalize the other business sessions in the next two to three days.
 
SIHRA was launched in 1951, with a purpose to encourage, promote and protect the interests of owners and other persons concerned with and interested in hospitality industry. Since then, it has become the voice of Hospitality industry and has come a long way in defining its justice for and on behalf of the fraternity’s interests.
