Goa in an attempt to boost the state’s tourism sector is all set to create mega tourism circuits in collaboration with neighboring Maharashtra and Karnataka.
'Tourism industry pundits have called for creating mega tourism circuits, instead of individual promotion of tourism. By combining the strengths of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra, we are not only creating a mega tourism circuit, but we are also joining strengths to sell tourism in our respective states. The spin-offs will very much benefit individual states,' said Goa Tourism and Development Corporation (GTDC) managing director Nikhil Desai.
Besides, to keep track and updated about the news related to Goa tourism, the state government has
‘subscribed to an exclusive web service which tracks news from all newspaper websites, electronic media in all languages and translate it to English. “We get a full report of what news is going worldwide about Goa. Whenever anything happens, with the help of this exercise, we are ready to react at any moment. We know who is covering Goa and what negative and positive they are saying about the tourism,” the official said.
Goa that attracts nearly 2.5 million tourists per annum is dotted with many beautiful tourism attractions like Arvalem Waterfalls, Dona Paula, Calangute, Vagatore Beach, among others.
