India’s metropolitan city, Gurgaon, will soon be getting country’s first private metro by 2013 which will enable Gurgaon residents to travel both on the government-run metro as well as the privately-funded metro rail, on a single ticket.
The promoters of Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon (RMG), India’s first privately-funded metro project has announced the launch of work on the 6.1 km overhead stretch that will directly benefit residents of DLF City (II& III), the National Media Centre, Ambience Lagoon and techies working in DLF( Delhi Land and Finance) Cybercity. The ticket for all stations in the privately-run Metro will be priced at Rs 10.
Starting from Sikanderpur Metro station, the RMG would run through the posh DLF City (II) and touch Belvedere Park and Towers, DLF Cybercity, National Media Centre, Ambience Lagoon apartments before turning towards DLF in DLF City III. Other locations include Hotel Leela Kempinski, Ambience Mall, Hotel Trident Hilton and border Toll Plaza on Gurgaon Expressway.
