Kerala tourism in an attempt to woo more number of travellers from the domestic market, will organize road shows in 6 Tier II cities of India starting from August 6th to September 30th. The state tourism board is also looking forward to promote backwaters, romantic holidays, hill stations, Ayurveda and wildlife of Kerala through road shows.
The 6 key cities where the road shows will be held include Bhubaneswar (August 4), Vijayawada (August 6), Coimbatore (September 3), Bhopal (September 6), Lucknow (September 8) and Jaipur (September 30).
M Sivasankar, Director, Kerala Tourism said, “We are targeting these markets for the first time and it is a part of our ongoing initiative to target more travellers from the domestic segment. Domestic market has shown a promising growth and it is important to touch base with tour operators from these cities. Also there are some tour operators who have never tapped Kerala as a destination and there lies an opportunity for us to tap through these road shows. Approximately 25 suppliers from Kerala will be interacting with buyers from these cities.”
Recently the Kerala tourism department’s official website www.keralatourism.org had had been selected for the best site for the prestigious award ‘PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Gold Award 2010'.
