Lufthansa’s new flagship aircraft, the Airbus A380 is configured with 526 seats and has been given a complete makeover. The first class cabin on the upper deck has 8 generous seats, giving a sense of privacy to the travellers. The business class again located on the upper deck, has 98 seats. It has new features like sound-absorbing curtains and carpeting, a seat-bed that is 2.07m in length and 80cm in width, an air humidification system, luxurious bathrooms with wash and changing areas separated from the restroom area.
The aircraft based at Frankfurt will take the German national football team to Johannesburg on June 6th for the World Cup and will enter scheduled service on June 11th on the Frankfurt-Tokyo route. By this autumn, Lufthansa will take delivery of 4 A380s, which will be operated on routes to Beijing and Johannesburg.
