The Maharashtra Tourism Department Development (MTDC) that has introduced a specially woven-package tour ‘Asa ha Maharashtra’ besides including historical places will also include Udgir town, the historical site, Tank museum of Ahmednagar, Anandwan and other lesser known sites in its tourism package tour.
“The idea is to introduce the tourists to various facets of Maharashtra. Though the state has a huge population of travellers, they either go to other states or abroad to explore places. With this package, we plan to take tourists to places that were significant in shaping the culture of the state but are unexplored,” said Vijay Chavan, general manager, MTDC.
The 24-day package will enable travelers to visit unusual places, temples and museums. The tour that will kick start from Pune on November 11th is divided into 2 parts. The first 12 days of the tour include visits to destinations in Konkan, Western Maharashtra and Marathwada while the next 12 days will be for exploring Marathwada, Khandesh and Vidarbha.
“With Rs 20,000-Rs 22,000 per head, the tour will take place once a year. MTDC is working towards boosting tourism in the state. The project, once successful, will be adding new explorations every year,” added Vijay Chavan.
