The Malaysian High Commission has merged with VFS Global, a consular services facilitation company, to service visa applications in Mumbai and Hyderabad. VFS Global Visa application centers in Mumbai and Hyderabad are part of a pilot project, post which the High Commission will look at increasing the number of Visa application centres.
Dato Tan Seng Sung, High Commissioner, Malaysian High Commission said, “India is an important country for Malaysia and this is an initiative to provide a higher level of service to Indian travellers. Individual Visa applicants, corporate houses, institutions and the travel trade community will derive benefits from this service.”
Currently, the Malaysian High Commission takes 3 working days to process the Visa, while VFS Global aims at delivering Visas in a shorter duration of time to all its applicants. The Malaysian High Commission during peak season processes Visa for close to 900 applications per day in New Delhi, 1,500 applications per day in Chennai and 600 applications per day in Mumbai.
