United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Hong Kong have collaborated in order to increase the number of tourist arrivals in both countries and will be seen actively taking part in each other's cultural events.  The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR) have mutually agreed on the partnership after recently exchanging tourism data on the performance of their respective tourism sectors in 2009 and 2010.
Hong Kong authorities had earlier said that the Gulf region, India and Russia were its top 3 emerging markets; while the Abu Dhabi authorities claimed that Hong Kong played a key role in its greater China market development strategy.
Hong Kong has invited Abu Dhabi, the second largest city of UAE to participate in its annual Chinese New Year Street Parade, while Abu Dhabi has asked Hong Kong to participate in its annual Gourmet Abu Dhabi culinary festival.
