To help boost the tourism sector in Jammu & Kashmir, the government will be taking the initiative to set up 5 ropeway projects.
These projects include construction of a ropeway in Mahamaya-Bahufort-Mubarak Mandi in Jammu, ropeway from Boulevard to Shankeracharya, ropeway at Makhdoomi Sahib shrine (both in Srinagar), ropeway at Ashmuquam (Anantnag district) and chairlift cable project at Kangdori (Gulmargh). Jammu and Kashmir State Cable Car Corporation (JKSCCC) is currently working on the construction of these ropeways.
"Five ropeway projects will be set up in Jammu and Kashmir for further development of tourism infrastructure and promotion of tourism in the state,” Nawang Rigzin Jora, Tourism Minister said.
