Air India that operates a fleet of Airbus and Boeing aircraft serving Asia, Europe and North America has now unveiled monsoon special fare to facilitate passengers. The new move that is valid till September 30th enables passengers paying normal Economy class fare for journey on domestic sector will be allowed to travel in Executive Class.
According to the Air India press release, passengers paying full Economy class fare have the option to either get an upgrade to Executive Class on firm basis under monsoon special offer or avail the companion free offer for travel in Economy class.
The carrier that has 2 major domestic hubs at Delhi and Mumbai respectively and one international hub at Frankfurt has also introduced a new rainbow super saver ticket under which a four coupon of economy class ticket at a cost of Rs 21,328 (inclusive of taxes) is issued for travel on all domestic sectors on AI / IC Coded flights.
However for travel on Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi - Coimbatore, Delhi- Kozhikode, Delhi - Kochi Sectors, 2 coupons will be uplifted for travel instead of a single coupon. Further to reduce air traffic congestion and maintain DGCA’s (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) guidelines , Air India has decided to close all its check-in counters 40 minutes and 60 minutes before the scheduled departures of their domestic and international flights.
