Chambal Tourism Promotion Council (CTPC), in collaboration with Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Madhya Pradesh is all set to organize ‘Chambal Challenge 2010’  from October 11-16 at Ater Block situated on the banks of Chambal River in Bhind District, Madhya Pradesh. The 6-day event that is expected to give major fillip the state’s tourism sector will also boost Rural and Adventure Tourism.
The Council that promotes Chambal in a huge way is expecting more than 400 visitors for the event. CTPC will display various cultural events, as well as provide several tourism activities for adventure freaks such as hot air ballooning, para-motor, parasailing, rappelling, zorbing, banana ride, ringo ride and treasure hunt.
The decision to organize the event during the Commonwealth Games (CWG), to be held from October 3-14 in Delhi, was finalized as the destination is well connected to Gwalior and Delhi and large number of CWG guests are expected to visit the region.
Amit Mishra, Secretary, Chambal Tourism Promotion Council (CTPC) said “The Council is offering three tourism packages- Platinum, Gold and Silver which are priced at Rs 2,222 to Rs 6,700. The duration of these packages are six days/five nights to two days/one night. Till now, the Council has sold Rs five lakh worth packages for the event”.
