Shangri-La Hotel, in Dubai became the first hotel in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to be awarded with the ISO 22000 certification for its Food Safety Management System in addition to its ISO 14001 for its Environmental Management System. Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently manage 66 hotels under the Shangri-La and Traders brands.
"The certification is a seal of our hotels' compliance to strict, internationally-set standards. This new innovation brings forth our aim of being the undisputed leader in customer service. Being the first in the world to be certified is a major feat,"
said Bernhard Haechler, vice president and general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai.
Shangri-La hotels, the five-star luxurious properties  are located all across the world like Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines, Singapore and many more. The group has over 40 projects under progress in Austria, Canada, mainland China, France, India, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Qatar, Seychelles, Turkey and United Kingdom.
