In a bid to highlight the challenges faced by the travel and tourism industry, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) which regulates the travel industry, has decided to present a White Paper to the Government of India (GoI) and Government of Maharashtra (GoM) post India Travel Trade Expo (ITTE), to be held on August 7-8, 2010 at World Trade Centre, Mumbai. The recommendations made by participants and delegates during the expo will be noted and incorporated in the White Paper.
“This is the first White Paper our association is going to present from an exhibition. We will also lay emphasis on Maharashtra, this being the state’s Golden Jubilee year. Maharashtra government has also confirmed its participation at the expo as the host state,” said Iqbal Mulla, Hon. Treasurer and Chairman – Marts and Special Events, TAAI. 
In addition, the association will also host TAAI Travel Awards during the 2 -day expo besides organizing a buyer-seller meeting on the same day. TAAI has already received 50 per cent bookings for the expo and has received confirmations from tourism departments of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir for participation at the expo.
