The Delhi government in a bid to make the journey more hassle-free for tourists especially foreigners visiting Delhi during the time of CWG (Commonwealth Games) will launch a website in the month of August wherein visitors can avail information on transportation, tourist sites, shopping avenues, and others.
According to Delhi tourism managing director, Reena Ray, the idea is to make the experience for tourists in Delhi on a par with international cities like London, Paris and Rome. The tourism department is keen to make visitors aware through the website.
The website will provide all the relevant information to tourists in Delhi and be self-serving. “On this site, you can book your travel plans, find a hotel to your budget, book a taxi or a seat on the to be launched hop-on-hop-off bus. We will also provide information on eating outlets along with a map of Delhi,'' said Delhi tourism managing director, Reena Ray.
Furthermore, the website will help foreigners pick up basic Hindi phrases and impart them with details on best shopping joints and markets. Besides, the tourism department has also chalked out plans to introduce a whole range of literature and pamphlets describing Delhi and mobile service updates where one can get news on the latest happenings and information of the city round-the-clock.
