Keeping in view Maharashtra government's plan to develop Shirdi as an international pilgrimage centre, equipped with all modern facilities, Tata Group has decided to contribute to the development. The group's hospitality brand Gateway Hotels is ready to set up a 125-room hotel in Shirdi, which will equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. The hotel will be spread across 16 acres of land, on a prime location in the pilgrim town.
 
P K Mohankumar, Chief Operating Officer of Gateway Hotels, said that the new hotel would be a 125-room property, armed with high-tech banqueting, conferencing and meeting facilities. He added that Gateway Shirdi has been planned keeping in view the state administration's plan to develop town and the rising demand of infrastructure and it would be able to serve all devotees and tourist visiting the holy city.
 
The hotel will be situated 1.5 km away from main Shirdi Shrine, 3.5 km from Shirdi railway station and 5 km from the proposed Shirdi airport. It will be opened in partnership with Orbital Realty and will be 32nd property of Gateway Hotels so far. Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDC) is supposed to take up projects to develop roadways close to 25 km around the shrine, which is expected to add to the business of the hotel.
