Kuwait City: ‘Visit India’ road show, a part of the Incredible India campaign, was launched by Indian Tourism Department in Kuwait, in collaboration with the India embassy, on 8th October 2009. Crown Plaza Hotel of Kuwait was the place where this event was kicked off. The Indian dignitaries present at the occasion were India’s Minister of State for Tourism Sultan Ahmed, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Ajai Malhotra, Kerala Minister of Health Mrs P.K. Sreemathi Teacher, Manmohan Sadana, Regional Director of the Government of India Tourist Office Dubai and Pronab Sarkar, Secretary of Indian Association of Tour Operators.
 
Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Indian envoy said that the road show would be a face of new Indian tourism products, facilities, services and initiatives. It is aimed to attract travelers from Kuwait to India. The State Minister of Tourism Sultan Ahmed told the group of tour operators present there that they would have to put a lot of hard work, in order to draw the attention of travelers of this part of world, towards India. Speaking about health tourism from Kuwait to Kerala, one of the main features of the road show, he said that India has an advantage in the field, as it offers a better quality of healthcare on competitive price.
 
The launch of Visit India’ road show also witnessed a presentation by Secretary of Indian Association of Tour Operators Pronab Sarkar, which brought the beauty of India in Kuwait alive. As a part of the presentation, he even disclosed the special offers under the Visit India scheme 2009, like one complimentary international air passage for a traveling companion, one night complimentary stay in the hotel booked by the tourist, one complimentary local sightseeing tour in any one city of visit, one complimentary rural eco holiday in the country, etc.

As a part of the Visit India scheme 2009, member hotels of the Hotel Association of India will also offer special packages in three categories. The ITC hotels, ITC Welcom Heritage hotels, Taj hotels, The Oberoi hotels, Trident hotels, Park hotels, The Lalit Group of Hotels, ITDC, HRH Group of Hotels, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Select Group of Hotels, and Kumarakom Lake Resort are the brands of hotels which will provide special packages under this scheme. A complete bus wrap of a tourist bus, displayed in front of Crown Plaza hotel, forms a part of the promotional activities under the ‘Visit India’ road show.
