India’s flag carrier, Air India plans to double the total number of flights it operates from Delhi from the existing 486 to 1200 per week by next year. The national carrier is also looking forward to launch new, direct flights to several destinations across USA, Europe and Australia in the coming winter schedule, where Delhi would function as an international hub.
Air India through this new initiative aims  to collect not only the passengers from within India (through the domestic network of Indian) at Delhi but also attract passengers from the Gulf countries and other south-east Asian destinations into  India’s capital , New Delhi and then give them direct connectivity to western destinations.
