The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) that actively promotes its state as a major tourist attraction has now invited proposals from hoteliers to operate and maintain an 84-room three-star hotel at ‘Balayogi Paryatak Bhawan’, a tourism plaza in Hyderabad. The hotel constructed and partly developed by APTDC will be soon handled and maintained by an experienced private operator. The selected operator will be required to invest in furniture, operate and manage the hotel and the food court on the ground floor for a period of 15 years.
The Rs 30-crore Bhavan, which was formally inaugurated by Ms Ambika Soni, the Union Minister for Tourism and Culture in the year 2006 covers 2,10,000 square feet area in a centrally air conditioned 7 storeyed facility built on 1.83 acre plot in Begumpeth, Hyderabad. The top 4 floors and some area of the second floor are designed to accommodate 84-rooms for the three/four star hotel with a swimming pool on the third floor.
Furthermore, the Tourism Plaza will house state tourist information bureaus, tour and travel operators, reservation counters for air, rail and taxi services and will be managed by APTDC. The Corporation besides providing packaged tours from Hyderabad & Kurnool to various parts of Andhra Pradesh also offers adventure and eco tourism tours at affordable prices for tourists.
