BalasoreBalasore is one of the major tourist destinations of Orissa. It is situated 212 km to the northeast of Bhubaneswar, near the southeastern coast of India. The city boasts of immense scenic beauty and a plethora of historical monuments and temples. Balasore is the main town of the Balasore district. It served as the residential place of the famous Fakir Mohan Senapati, who is considered to be the savior of modern Oriya language. The city is important from tourism point of view and also has a strong industrial base.

Renowned factories like Birla Tyres, Oriplast, Balasore Alloys and Emami Paper Mills are located here. Rubber, Plastic, Paper and Alloys industries are also mushrooming around the Balasore. Apart from this, the city has a strong affinity towards education and art forms.
