Photo Gallery of NepalNepal is the land of Sangri-la, the ultimate salvation.
The ice capped mountains, serpentine roads, a solitary hut at the top
and a Yak puffing in the sun; surely Nepal is a land of magnificence.
From the ground the gigantic peaks look intimidating with mountaineers
who look like small ants scaling the height. A stray Yak passes by in
otherwise barren mountains. You sip your coffee in solitude under your
cottage, thinking is it Sangri-la all about. Back in Kathmandu amid bustling bazaars, you want to loose yourself. In the cries of vendors and shouts of urchins, those days in Himalayas seems like a distant dream. Here in Katmandu, you have temples and bazaars jostling with each other for the space. The magnificence of both leaves you mesmerized. Down there in Tarai, you have Janakpur and Lumbini, the center of million pilgrims. The soul of Buddha lives there and you can feel it. It is so calm, so serene; it is ought to be divine. You return from Tarai on a plane joy ride looking down at the Everest, feeling top of the world. And before you know, it is time you leave. For divinity is not permanent for lesser mortals. Welcome to Nepal!
