Panaji Airport is the nearest airport from Gokarna, at a distance of 150 kms. You can hire a taxi from there which would cost approx Rs 2000. About 230 kms from Gokarna, Mangalore airport is another one which is connected to the major cities of India. Private taxis from Mangalore charge approx. Rs 2500. Bangalore airport is though quite far, it is well-connected to both national and international cities. Private taxis can be hired or deluxe buses can be boarded from Bangalore to reach Gokarna.
Gokarna Road Station is the nearest railhead at distance of 8kms, on the Konkan Railway. However, Kumta Railhead which is about 37 kms from Gokarna is better connected. Gokarna can be reached by train Konkan Railway on the Mumbai to Mangalore route. Railway stations at Panaji, Mangalore and Bangalore can make other options. From there, you can either hire private cabs or board buses to reach Gokarna.
Gokarna is connected to other cities through a network of roads and highways. From Kumta (37kms), Ankola (25kms) and Karwar (59kms), it can be reached by buses and maxi cabs via NH17. If traveling from Gokarna, you have to take NH4 to Tumkur; NH206 to Honavar via Arsikere, Shimoga and Sagar; NH17 to Madangeri; district road to reach Gokarna.
