Tuticorin has a tropical, hot & humid climate.
The summers are quite discomforting here, with high humidity and flaring
sun. You must wear light and airy cotton clothes when in Tuticorin. The
winters are comparatively comfortable though temperature never dips
below 190C. The sun could be quite harsh here, so protect your skin with
proper sunscreen lotions. Keep your body hydrated all through your visit

Thoothukudi district was one of the many coastal districts in Tamilnadu
that bore the brunt of devastating Tsunami on 26th December 2004. You
could still visit some of the sites, which were thoroughly engulfed by
the giant walls of Tsunami waves. However sustained relief works and
sheer strength of the inhabitants here have seen the life back on
tracks.
